  • City park, ihatehaters (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
i think it has to do with it being open and not covered with buildings and highly contaminated choppers landing here.

  • Cafe "Prypiat", Visiting Eagle (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
It's amazing how quickly nature has reclaimed everything. Trees and shrubs will someday obscure this entire city. It will all go back to nature. How does the saying go, "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust..." I feel sad for the people who lost their entire city, and their way of life.
  • Avanhard Stadium, Visiting Eagle (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Notice how the grassy field area of the soccer stadium is overgrown with trees that have taken root and are now nearly fully grown. This is a testament to how "civilization" will quickly revert back to nature without man doing his part to prevent it from happening. This once beautiful city is now becoming almost like a jungle village.

  • 16-story building, Zyraf (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
The highest building in the City. wonderful view around, even on nuclear plant. If you go to pripyat ya must get on the roof of it.
  • Cafe "Prypiat", chornoman wrote 17 years ago:
The cafe area was one of the more heavily contaminated areas of Pripyat. The last time I was there I received numerous dosimeter alarms in front of the building. The long structure seen to the side of the cafe is a drive-in area reminiscent of 50's style American eateries. The dock area down by the river is still used by the guards and local police for rest and meal breaks. I have pleasant memories of an afternoon spend there with them.
